Corey and Aaron had a Ryland Inn Wedding in Readington Township, New Jersey.

What a joy this film was to create.

Corey and Aaron had such an amazing energy on their wedding day, from the jump I knew it was going to just be an awesome day. Little things like needing to know how to tie a bow tie didn’t derail them from being so focused, excited, and joyful about their wedding.

Diving into the edit, one line from Aaron’s interview really struck me. “It’s an archetypical romance movie,” he said, while describing his love at first sight moment with Corey. They met at NYU, which led me down a rabbit hole of pairing part of their interview with shots of NYC, and with doing that I wanted to lean into the old movie idea (specifically the film “Manhattan”) with black and white shots.

At first, I was just thinking of using black and white for the opening, but I felt like the whole film just felt right to be in black and white (though there’s a color version too!)

With a Ryland Inn wedding, they were able to have their ceremony in the gorgeous courtyard there. It was a beautiful backdrop for the wedding ceremony. It had the right mix of greenery from the surrounding trees, but also the architecture of the building behind them that just was perfect.

They had their Ryland Inn wedding reception inside the stunning ballroom, with a beautifully choreographed first dance that Fred Astaire would have been proud of!

It’s so amazing to get to hear each couple’s incredible story. Hearing how Aaron was certain about Corey from the moment they met, and that Corey felt similarly (her sister recounted how Corey at one point texted her she knew she’d marry Aaron) made their story feel just picture perfect!
