When you heard the term “micro wedding”, or elopement, or backyard wedding prior to the pandemic, you probably had a lot of preconceived notions. Maybe you thought it meant the couple didn’t really care about their micro wedding, or just weren’t really willing to invest time and money into it. But then 2020 hit, and as we move into what typically is wedding season (at least for those of us here in the North East of the US), micro weddings are one of the best options for couples who want to get married during this turbulent time.

So, I chatted with Andi of Musa Weddings all about how to plan a micro wedding in 2021. Andi is one of my favorite wedding planners in the Philadelphia area, and I’ve had the pleasure of working on weddings with her both pre-pandemic and during the pandemic. In this episode, we talk all about the trends and tendencies she’s seeing couples gravitate towards right now in planning their weddings, some assumptions couples are having heading into planning a micro wedding that may or may not be true, and how to really create an experience for yourselves that is personal and meaningful, despite all that’s going on (see the timestamps below for specific topics).
