Perfect Icona Diamond Beach Wedding

Katie & Alex had a beautiful wedding ceremony & reception at Icona Diamond Beach.

Getting married minutes away from where her family stayed for their Diamond Beach shore trips yearly was incredibly special to Katie. It would have been obvious how important the shore is to her even had we not talked about it leading into the wedding. It came up in vows, in toasts, throughout the night, and it was clear how much everyone enjoyed spending time at the shore!

I started the day grabbing a drone shot of the Cape May Wildlife Preserve. The preserve was minutes away from where Katie grew up going to the beach, and the venue. I’d driven around there the day before, but getting that aerial view really showed the natural beauty of the preserve!

Getting Ready at Icona Diamond Beach

One great feature at Icona Diamond Beach was both Katie & Alex had plenty of room to get ready. The bridal suite was big and bright (versus cramped spaces we sometimes see). And sometimes the groomsmen get tucked into a tight, dark basement, but the groomsmen were hanging out just next door in an equally beautiful space!

First Look

Teaming with Courtney Space Events and Morgan Taylor Artistry, we decided to have them go to Icona Diamond Beach’s ballroom for the first look. I definitely assumed going into the day we would do it out on the beach, but I think it was a really good choice as it kept Katie & Alex out of the elements and giving them a quiet space to read their vows to each other.

Beach Portraits

These were some of my favorite beach portraits. There was lots of space to feel secluded despite it being a beautiful Sunday at the New Jersey Shore! It also was the perfect backdrop for a stunning beach ceremony!

I also loved the natural light streaming into the Icona Diamond Beach ballroom – especially being so near the peak of summer, there was daylight coming in and making everything look beautiful!
