Allie & James had their wedding ceremony & reception at Winterthur in Wilmington, DE. It was a beautiful spring day in the historic gardens.
It is amazing to see how each couple comes together to complement each other. Allie & James both highlighted how they are different but work together in their vows.
James led off his vows talking about he was introduced to Allie because “she’s a libertarian too! Turns out that was wrong.”
Allie mentioned a similar sentiment. “You feel like a part of me, like having a conversation with you is like talking with myself – and that’s not because we’re that similar on the surface,” she said. “Most of our best conversations involve a loud debate of some sort. It’s because being with you is so comfortable and natural that I feel more like myself when we’re together than when we’re apart.”
“There are lots of reasons to love you,” James said. “The reason I love you, and the reason I asked you to marry me, is simply that I can’t imagine living my life without you by my side.”
“James, I am so fortunate to have loved you for so long that I don’t remember what it’s like to not love you anymore,” Allie said, “and I can’t believe I get to love you forever.”
Allie & Jame’s wedding day was unseasonably hot for May, but with the backdrop of the Winterthur mansion & gardens, their day couldn’t have been more perfect.
