Meghan & Mark had their wedding reception at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, preceded by a beautiful ceremony at Malvern Preparatory School’s Chapel.
When you get married in January, you take the bad with the good. The good? Snow made both the Aronimink Golf Club & the chapel at Malvern Prep extra gorgeous.
The bad? The temperature never got out of the teens.
However, Meghan, Mark, & their friends didn’t let the cold get them down. We were able to head out to get some epic sunset photos, but the true essence of their day was how excited their friends and family were for them to start their journey together.
Congratulations Meghan & Mark!
So what should you do when you get an incredibly cold wedding day (because while Philadelphia in the winter is cold, anything in the teens is extreme!)
I think you have to lean into it! Having layers so you can look great in or out of the cold, without freezing for those breathtaking shots, is always worth it. Having a venue that has good spots to take photos and video inside can help (and this is good to think about any time of year – especially in the Mid-Atlantic region where I am, having a backup plan that’s something you’re not just living with, but excited about, goes such a long way).
You can even try to make it part of your guests experience. Hot chocolate stations wouldn’t work particularly well in summer, but it’s perfect in winter!
You can’t control the weather, so accepting what you can’t control and leaning into the day you get is always a smart way to go!
